Following our natural birth, we’ve increasingly become advocates for this method of birthing and supportive of the midwives struggling to give birth back to women. Below is the site Alison has created to share information that she finds and to provide resources for those hoping to learn more about their natural birth options.

An Argument for Circles

1 10 2009
“I wake expectant, hoping to see a new thing.”
~ Annie Dillard

We are beginning a new blog as we also begin a new chapter in our lives. You can read about and see pictures of our first nine months a together and how we navigated Sophia’s journey from seed to flower on our old blog; www.twomuttsandamiracle.blogspot.com.

Six years ago to the day, with a similar song in my soul, I was packing up my Nissan with all a college student’s apartment could hold and heading West to find some good stories to tell and to leave behind some old memories I’d rather not. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Birthdays are always new beginnings, pages in time that fold over mid-sentence  and either continue along a comfortable, familiar trail or possibly seize the opportunity to spin off into an unexpected twist of motivation. Mine falls in that three-quarters frame where another calendar year with its optimistic new year’s resolutions is quickly growing cold and the sand is beginning to fall fast.  Nine months of relative latency gives way to restlessness and impulsive tendencies … or, perhaps, inspired action. This time, the compass points North.

So, once again, the birthday candles of my annual moment in time were still smoking when belongings, this time our, were put into boxes so that we don’t have to be.  Circles, waves, echoes hopefully getting stronger, louder and rolling forward all of the time.

I hope we find what we are looking for …
